How to find a property

How PrivateStay properties are discovered — and why there's no public search.

PrivateStay works differently from other rental platforms. There is no public search engine, no map to browse, and no listing directory. This is by design.

How properties are discovered

Every PrivateStay listing has a unique private address — something like privatestay.club/p/villa-name — that only works if someone shares it with you directly.

Properties are discovered through personal recommendation and direct sharing:

  • A host shares their listing link directly with friends, family, or trusted contacts
  • Someone in your network shares a link they received from the host
  • A host mentions their listing in a newsletter, private group, or personal website

If you do not have a link to a specific property, you cannot find it on PrivateStay — this is intentional.

Why there's no public search

PrivateStay is built for hosts who want to rent to people they know or trust. A public search would undermine this — any stranger could find and request access to any listing.

By keeping listings private by default, hosts maintain full control over who discovers and accesses their property.

If you have a link

If someone has shared a PrivateStay listing link with you, simply open it in your browser. You will either see:

  • The full listing — if the host has made it public, or if you have already been approved as a follower
  • The access gate — if the listing is private, you will need to request access first

See Requesting access to a property for the next step.

If you don't have a link

If you are looking for a specific property you've heard about, the best approach is to ask the person who mentioned it to share the link with you directly. PrivateStay support cannot share property links on behalf of hosts.
