For Hosts

Create your first listing

Step-by-step guide to setting up a new property on PrivateStay.

Creating a property on PrivateStay takes just a few steps. Your listing will be private and unpublished until you are ready to share it.

Step 1 — Create the property

From your Dashboard, go to Properties → New Property. You will be asked for three things: the name of your property, a link address, and how you want to handle access requests.

The title is what guests see as the name of your property — something like "Villa Rosa — Tuscany" works well. The link address is the short name that becomes part of your listing's URL: if you choose villa-rosa-tuscany, your listing will live at privatestay.club/p/villa-rosa-tuscany.

Warning

Your link address is permanent — it cannot be changed after the property is created. Choose it carefully. Use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only. Keep it short and memorable, as it becomes your listing's permanent URL.

Approval mode

  • Manual — You review and approve each follow request individually. Recommended for most hosts, as it lets you vet prospective guests before granting access.
  • Auto — Follow requests are approved instantly, without your review. Suitable if your listing is semi-public and you do not need to screen guests.

Step 2 — Build your listing content

After creating the property, you will land in the Content Editor. This is where you add all the information guests will see: photos, description, pricing, policies, and more.

See Building your listing for a full walkthrough of each content section.

Step 3 — Configure settings

In Dashboard → Settings for your property, you can configure:

  • Payment details (bank transfer information sent to guests on booking approval)
  • Booking buffer days (minimum gap between consecutive bookings)
  • Arrival and departure instructions (sent automatically to guests before and after their stay)
  • iCal import/export for calendar sync

Step 4 — Publish your listing

When you are happy with your content, go to Dashboard → Overview (or the property settings) and toggle Published on. Your listing URL will now work.

By default, your listing is also not public — meaning only approved followers can see the full content. Non-followers see an access gate. You can make the listing public if you want anyone with the link to see the full content.

Tip

You do not need to publish immediately. Your listing can remain in draft (unpublished) while you build it out. Take your time — nothing is visible until you choose to publish.

Share your listing

Once published, share your listing URL with the people you want to invite. They will visit the link, request access, and you can approve them from Dashboard → Followers.
